Hop aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad’s Easter Bunny Train for a true family event featuring the Easter Bunny himself.  Take in the scenes of the Royal Gorge in spring while your children enjoy a reverse hunt as the Easter Bunny hands out eggs with chocolate treats and Depot dollars – good for food on board and gifts in the Santa Fe Depot train shop. Capture the memory with a family photo in front of the #8 train bedecked with festive Easter decorations. The Royal Gorge Route’s Easter Bunny Train departs at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7th and Sunday, April 8th, 2012. Order your favorites from the Vista Dome, bar car or concession menu or enjoy our chef-prepared Prime Rib lunch, including potatoes, dinner roll and asparagus, for just $17.95 in Vista Dome and Sunshine Falls bar car. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s EGGStravanganZOO – April 7

Visit the Lodge at Moose Lake between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to color a hard boiled egg at one of the special decorating stations, then check the feeding schedule to watch as zookeepers distribute the eggs to the animals between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Special treats like this enrich the animals, promote mental and physical exercise, and stimulate the natural behavior of foraging for food. For the health and safety of the animals, all eggs and decorating supplies will be provided by Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Normal admission rates apply.

Colorado Easter Sunrise Service Hosted by Royal Gorge Bridge & Park and the Ministerial Alliance of Canon City – April 8

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park and the Ministerial Alliance of Canon City are hosting the annual Easter Sunday Sunrise Service April 8, 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. The service is free to the general public, and guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to families in need. The main gate to the park will open at 5:45 a.m. and the sun will rise at 6:35 a.m. just as the service starts. There will be seating for 500, and guests are encouraged to dress warmly as the mornings can be “chilly.” Special music performed by the Mountain View band. Complimentary coffee and hot cocoa will be served before the service and guests may bring their own lawn chairs.

Victorian Easter Egg Hunt and Luncheon Tea – April 7

Join Miramont Castle for a Victorian Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 2 through 10 accompanied by an adult. A generous supply of eggs will be hidden for the children to locate and a special basket will delight the child who finds the golden egg! Following the egg hunt, retire to the beautiful Tea Room for an abundant luncheon, with special treats to delight the little ones. Reservations are required. Seating is limited and fills up early. There will be three seatings: 10:00 am, 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm.

Chocolate Bunny Walk & Egg Hunt at Bear Creek Nature Center – April 7
