City for Champions is a collection of five distinct and extraordinary venues that will attract new visitors to Colorado Springs, the surrounding region and the State of Colorado.
With four of five already open, these projects will improve the quality of life for residents and the visitor experience for those traveling to the region. Together, the City for Champions projects add dimension, energy and economic vitality to the region.
City for Champions builds upon Colorado Springs’ history as a health destination, a training ground for servicemen and women, and a sports and fitness hub by advancing a collection of new attractions unique in Colorado—and in some cases, the country.
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum is one of the most accessible and inclusive museums in the world, relying on RFID technology to provide guests with a completely customizable experience through the journeys of U.S. Olympians and Paralympians. Website
Weidner Field - Home of the Switchbacks, is an outdoor, downtown sports complex in Colorado Springs offering 117,000 sq/ft of event space for special events ranging from 20-15,000 attendees. It’s the perfect location offering an energetic atmosphere to host meetings, tournaments, receptions, weddings and more. website
Colorado College's Ed Robson Arena is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art, sustainable sporting event venue that benefits both the college and the City of Colorado Springs. CC Tiger Hockey games are now played on campus, for the first time in the history of the program. website
Built out of a unique partnership between the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and nonprofit healthcare leader, Centura Health, the Hybl Center brings together a cutting-edge sports medicine clinic, innovative academic classrooms and top-notch sports performance programming all in one 60,000-square-foot facility. Construction began in July 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2024. The 32,000-square-foot visitor center will introduce guests to what life is like for cadets and may display aircraft, spacecraft and satellites within its main atrium.
