Embark on a Team USA-inspired adventure with our Olympic & Paralympic-themed itinerary
Colorado Springs is Olympic City USA (OCUSA). This identity comes from the natural training grounds at our high elevation plus a history of being home to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center, U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and 26 National Governing Bodies (NGBs) – more than any other city.
As OCUSA, our community gets especially excited during Games years! With the Summer Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games this year, there is plenty to see and do to get inspired.
Knock out two attractions in one with the Podium Package
Enjoy two of our iconic Olympic and Paralympic-centric attractions with a Podium Package. The joint ticket includes a tour of both the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. At the museum, one of the most accessible, interactive museums in the world, guests can explore the legacies of Team USA’s greatest athletes and relieve some of the most iconic moments in Games history. The Training Center provides an up-close-and-personal glimpse into how athletes prepare for the competition through strength training, nutrition and more.
Complete athlete-level trails at high elevation
Not for the faint of heart, several trails in Colorado Springs will push you to the limit of your physical abilities. The Manitou Incline is well-known for its 2,000 feet of elevation gain over less than one mile up 2,768 steps. Sound wild? It is. It’s perhaps the most unique and challenging trail in the country, attracting runners, military personnel and athletes. Other challenging trails include cycling routes like those in Garden of the Gods Park or even up and down Pikes Peak. Garden of the Gods Park has miles of bicycle-friendly trails ranging from paved to unpaved for both road bikes and mountain bikes. The many hills and curves will challenge riders while offering incredible views throughout the park. While Pikes Peak Highway is fully paved, it’s incredibly intense, ascending more than 4,800 vertical feet with over 150 turns to the 14,115-foot summit of America’s Mountain.
Reflect on champions of the past
Located near The Broadmoor, the World Figure Skating Museum & Hall of Fame features a collection of skating costumes and other memorabilia. Visitors will also learn how athletes perform some of the most intricate jumps and tricks. The ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy is another place visitors can learn about notable athletes and be inspired by the colorful history of rodeo legends.
Celebrate the spirit of local competition
Our hometown teams can be just as exciting to cheer on as Team USA! Catch a Switchbacks FC soccer match at Weidner Field, or cheer on the Rocky Mountain Vibes minor league baseball team at UC Health Park.
