Going out to eat to indulge in a meal can sometimes cause guilt – but it doesn’t have to. It’s a new year, and if cleaner eating is on your resolutions list, we have some great options for you here in Colorado Springs. Visit these great restaurants full of colorful, healthy meals to fill your tummy with nutritious goodness.It was featured in Men’s Journal as one of the 10 coolest places in America to drink craft beer, but it’s also one of the coolest places to grab a healthy bite to eat (and then wash it down with said beer). The Ute & Yeti is located inside CityROCK climbing gym, so you can get a workout in then head on over. Featured menu items include Veggie Chili, Roasted Beet Salad, The Honnold Bowl (turmeric quinoa base with delish veggies and protein options) and fresh fruit smoothies.
Local Fave: Spicy Ramen – Kale, carrot, red pepper, shiitake mushroom, broccoli, hard-boiled egg, seaweed, scallion, spicy veggie broth (gluten-free available). And a Pikes Peak Brewing draft beer to wash it down because, treat yo-self. YUM!
Led by local chef Jay Gust, Homa is located on the main floor of Kinship Landing hotel and is open to the public. All food is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Menu items include hearty grain bowls, sandwiches and signature handpies. The word homa itself means “human,” and Homa strives to drive connection between people through its yummy bites.
Local Fave: Fried Cauli bowl – Heart bowl with farro, sprouted lentils and quinoa (or salad style with leafy greens), topped with fried cauliflower, charred leeks, avocado, cashews, lemongrass and sambal aioli. Option to add proteins. If you need an energy boost, enjoy the delicious Oat Milk Draft Latte.
The epitome of colorful food, this café makes all menu items from scratch. Enjoy everything from Vegetarian Green Chili to Avocado Toast, Chilaquiles, burgers, benedicts and desserts. Daily fresh squeezed juices include the Green Goddess and Cold Kicker.
Local Fave: Huevos Rancheros – Corn tortillas, house black beans, vegetarian green chili, two eggs your way, jack cheese, pico de gallo with the option to substitute pork green chili. Mountain Mimosa on the side (prosecco, lavender syrup and grapefruit juice, mmm!).
TILL inspires diners with bright, seasonal flavors and quaint downtown ambiance. Menu staples include Halibut Ceviche, Kale & Quinoa Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Chicken.
Local Fave: House Agnolotti – Caramelized onion, butternut squash, fontina filling, roasted tomato, bread crumbs. Plus a Mint Limeade from-scratch soda. Refreshing!
