Overview
Dear Director of Photography:
Eight years as a Camera Utility, I have worked pretty much every major sports broadcast event in the state of Colorado—from college football to Denver Broncos to the 2018 U.S. Senior Open at the world well-known Broadmoor Hotel. As a Camera Utility, I have ran camera cables through venues, converted signal, cleaned fiber optic, cleaned lenses, assisted in setting up cameras, coiled cable behind the hand-held, and replaced the batteries.
I have successfully completed Safe Sets COVID-19 (Level A & Level B) Certificate online program. I have had COVID-19 and have been vaccinated/boosted for COVID-19. I am completely able to work in a manner that is safe for all members on set during this Pandemic.
As an Assistant Camera, I have worked several gigs such as a wrestling documentary for the 2021 Olympics (working title Helen), live stand-up comedy for Comedy Dynamics’ Chris Porter: A Man from Kansas, Sting Boxing commercial, and a training video for Tri-County Health Department. As an A.C., I have assisted in setting up monitors, Teradeks, running SDI from the monitors to camera. I have exchanged lens, swapped media cards, and labeled cards.
Furthermore, I have worked as a Camera Operator on many live events for Toastmasters International 2019 Convention, 2019 Leadville Race Series, Pac-12 Networks, UNC Football, The Broadmoor Hotel, and numerous high school football games for Comcast Entertainment Television. I have even worked as a Studio Camera Operator for KRDO News Channel 13 and for Altitude TV (Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche). Being a camera operator has allowed me to better anticipate the needs of the DP and camera operators on set.
My education includes the successful completion of courses in Photography and Multimedia Composition. I have read and studied The Camera Assistant’s Manual by David E. Elkins, SOC. As a Production Assistant with over a decade of experience on some of television’s biggest shows, I have gotten countless hours of shadowing DPs, Camera operators, and ACs. I have even assisted the camera department on many occasions. I am familiar with such cameras as Sony’s A7II and CineAlta PMW-F55, Arri Alexa, Red Epic, and Panasonic AG-HPX500 to name a few.
Lastly, I’m a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force with strong leadership, work ethic, can do attitude, and attention to detail. Willing to work hard and long hours on any project, so that it stays on schedule and on budget. Willing to make any project an ultimate success. I’m also a proud member of IBEW 45 out of North Hollywood!
Sincerely,
/s/ David L. Ulery
