Overview
Founded in 1930, Fountain Valley School of Colorado (FVS) is a top-ranked boarding and day institution serving high school students grades 9 through 12. A private, independent school situated on 1,100 acres–also referred to as the Prairie–in beautiful Colorado Springs, FVS delivers a challenging academic curriculum within a secure setting to prepare students for college and beyond.
Offering a world-class education in a world-class location, Fountain Valley’s one-of-a-kind landscape–complete with 10 residence halls, a 40-acre Mountain Campus and stunning views of Pikes Peak–inspires students to examine the vital connections that exist between the land and its people. The School’s supportive faculty and students spanning over 20 countries and 20 states enable young adolescents to make connections, explore their passions, and discover their own voice in a community of belonging.
Lessons in critical thinking, courage, compassion, curiosity, self-reliance and open-mindedness aim to educate the whole child and take students from young learners to mature leaders. Traditional athletic offerings as well as mountain sports, including mountain-biking, climbing, and western horseback riding, extensive growth opportunities via week-long Interim Expeditions domestically and abroad, and inspiring performing and visual arts programming round out the FVS student experience.
