Overview
One of the oldest trails in Colorado Springs is the Heizer trail. Though not well known, it climbs uncompromisingly up Cascade Mountain from the town. As you climb up and pass through the first few switchbacks you will have a great view of the North Pole amusement park and the westbound US 24.

Trailhead Directions:
Travel west on Highway 24 to Cascade and turn left at the traffic light onto Fountain Avenue. There is a sign for the Pikes Peak Highway/North Pole at this intersection. Take a quick left onto Emporia Avenue, another left onto Park Street and a final left turn on Amenome Hill Road. The trailhead is on the right side of the road.
