Long's Ranch Road is one of several alternative routes that link up to Barr Trail. It is used by trail runners seeking a loop trail around Barr Trail or as an alternative approach. This trailhead is along Highway 24 in the Ute Pass and is across from the Waldo Canyon trailhead. Use Long's Ranch Road for a quiet approach to Barr Trail.
Trailhead Directions:
Travel west on Highway 24 for 4 miles to Manitou Avenue exit. Turn right onto Manitou Avenue and proceed for 3 miles to Ruxton Avenue at the traffic circle. Proceed about 0.8 miles along Ruxton Avenue to Hydro Street. Turn right onto Hydro Street and proceed to its end at the Barr Trail parking lot. Parking is very limited. Follow Barr Trail for 2.8 miles to intersection of Long’s Ranch Road on the right.
