What is the Royal Gorge?
The Royal Gorge is a 1,200 foot canyon on the Arkansas River, forming a 10-mile-long gorge. The Royal Gorge Bridge is suspended 1,053 feet above the river, making Royal Gorge Bridge & Park the ideal place for scenic views and adrenaline-pumping adventures.
Via Ferrata
Try the Royal Gorge Via Ferrata. Via Ferrata is Italian for “Iron Way” or “Iron Path” and introduces people to a protected, safe climbing, or mountaineering Environment using hand and foot holds, without days of training. Beginner, Moderate, and Difficult routes are available for the experience of a lifetime!
Royal Gorge Adventures

The park is ADA compliant with wheelchair accessibility, although there are some areas of the park that are not accessible by wheelchair. The visitor center, gondolas, theater and bridge are all wheelchair accessible. Chairs must be no wider than 30" to fit onto the gondola. There is no handicap ramp on the South deck of the gondola. Guests can reach the attractions on the south side via the bridge. There are no wheelchairs available at the park. The trails and walkways are paved but hilly. Service animals are welcome but must be kept on a leash. Non-service dogs are also welcome in the park but not allowed in the restaurants or on the rides. The plaza theater video is available in written form for the hearing impaired.Amenities
