Ute Pass Historical Society & Pikes Peak Museum
Overview
We at the Ute Pass Historical Society & Pikes Peak Museum invite you to come and see our historic buildings, exhibits, and photographs. Our staff and volunteers take great pride and pleasure in showing visitors the wealth of artifacts, documents, and artwork housed in the Pikes Peak Museum, a group of five historic buildings at Ute Pass History Park in Woodland Park, Colorado.
Why should you come to History Park?
* To discover what went into developing the Ute Pass area-from contributions of the Southern Ute people, to the early timber, mining, gambling, and agricultural industries; and the arrival of the Colorado Midland Railroad, and making it the heritage tourism destination it is today.
* To tour the historic buildings that were once a vital part of the Woodland Park community, including three houses, the town jail, and a cabin dedicated entirely to trains.
When visiting the Museum Center, be sure to request an informal tour of History Park. Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated. UPHS is happy to schedule individual tours and small groups by appointment.
We welcome field trips by school groups, youth groups and clubs. Call the Museum Center at 719.686.7512 to schedule a tour.
The Olde Curiosity Gift Shop is located in the Museum Center building. The shop offers an extensive selection of books and unique gift items. Reprint orders from our collection of over 4,000 photos are also available for purchase. The Gift Shop is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ute Pass Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 1976 by area residents interested in preserving the history of Ute Pass. We are primarily funded by patronage dues and individual donations. Please join us as a patron or volunteer. We welcome your support!
