The Water Pipe Trail is one of several trails surrounding the Barr Trail and connects Barr Trail to Trail 706. It is used mostly by locals to create loop trails around Barr Trail and is seldom used.
Trailhead Directions:
Travel west on Highway 24 for 4 miles to Manitou Avenue exit. Turn right onto Manitou Avenue and proceed for 3 miles to Ruxton Avenue at the traffic circle. Proceed about 0.8 miles along Ruxton Avenue to Hydro Street. Turn right onto Hydro Street and proceed to its end at the Barr Trail parking lot. Parking is very limited. Follow Barr Trail for 2.92 miles to the intersection of Trail 706 on the left. Follow Trail 706 for 1.35 miles to a water pipe bridge. DO NOT CROSS BRIDGE. Take the singletrack trail to the right of the bridge. The trail starts here.
