Event Summary
Bobby Hughes - "To Be Human: The Wreckage"
In my work I strive to chronicle the gamut of human emotions that connect us. Grief and loss are significant, unavoidable emotional threads that weave together to create the tapestry of human emotions. These intimate pieces serve to honor the emotions I have encountered over some of the more calamitous moments of my life. My goal with my work is to express these emotional states. The Wreckage.
Cymon Padilla - "Constellations"
This body of work continues my exploration of contemporary culture through the lens of traditional oil painting techniques. Drawing inspiration from art history, pop culture, and algorithm-shaped media, I use classical tools like trompe l’oeil and anamorphic distortion to interrogate and indulge in the absurdities of this early 21st century. By merging historical methods with contemporary themes, my aim is to both critique and celebrate the constellation of contradictions in our digital age.
Greg Johnson – "Artifact"
Artifact is an exhibit of layered ideas and a process, transforming an idea into a physical representation of that idea is what gives me the most enjoyment. Some compositions may be interpreted the same by multiple observers due to the fact they are more representational of a recognizable concept. Some are more abstract and allow different translations.
Chris Loud - "The Mundane, the Unexpected, and the Extraordinary"
My art reflects life's beautifully chaotic inspirations—an exploration of how the mundane, the unexpected, and the extraordinary intersect. Each piece in this exhibition stems from a spark of inspiration, as varied as the cracks in the pavement, an earworm song from an alt-rock band, or the haunting story of an 18th-century shipwreck.
