Friends of the Pikes Peak Library Literary Awards Luncheon

Event Summary
Journalist, outdoorsman, and novelist Peter Heller will be the keynote speaker at the annual presentation of the Frank Waters Award. The award is presented to an author who, as did Waters, with literary excellence represents and celebrates the culture and nature of the American West. Mr. Heller has received several accolades for his work, which include "The River," The Last Ranger,", and "Dog Stars." As well as his best-selling novels, Mr. Heller has written for National Geographic Adventure.
Additionally, P. J. Anderson and Patrick Anderson will receive the Golden Quill Award, which is granted to local writers recognized for outstanding achievement. "Cheyenne Mountain: Here's Looking at You" traces the history of the regional landmark, one often overshadowed by the famous nearby peak, from its geologic beginnings to current time.
