A Brooklyn native with an artistic lineage, Lorraine’s passion for painting has been a lifelong journey. With degrees from Pratt Institute and Brooklyn College, her work has graced prestigious spaces, including the Brooklyn Museum, Snug Harbor, and the American Watercolor Society in New York. Her career includes teaching positions at Kane and Montclair Colleges in New Jersey, as well as exhibitions at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and the Colorado History Museum in Denver. Her pieces can be found in corporate collections at AT&T, Colgate, and Nabisco, as well as private collections across the U.S. and abroad.
Lorraine’s artistic evolution has been profoundly shaped by her move to Colorado Springs in 1993. Trading the muted tones of the urban landscape for the bold light and color of the Rockies, her work blossomed into expressive landscapes, dynamic animal portraits, and powerful abstractions. She describes her approach as intuitive, layering colors and textures to create emotionally compelling works of art.
At 90, Lorraine remains as passionate and energetic as ever, declaring, “Painting keeps me alive.” Her feisty Brooklyn roots and compassionate spirit shine through in every piece she creates. This celebration is not just a milestone—it’s a tribute to her enduring impact on the art world and the community she has inspired.
Suzy Hunt Gardner, the artist behind Dream Follower Jewelry, creates handcrafted pieces using semi-precious stones, Argentium Sterling Silver, and sustainable materials. Influenced by her Colorado roots and Choctaw heritage, her work blends artistry and ethical sourcing, ensuring each piece is as meaningful as it is beautiful.
