Charlie DeGrove: Bio

Charlie DeGrove is a young bassist and composer from Colorado Springs who primarily plays jazz and creative music. He has played venues across the Front Range area such as The Armadillo Ranch, The Wild Goose, Summa, Muse Performance Space, and also performed at the Telluride Jazz Festival with the Telluride Jazz All-Stars in 2023.

Charlie was the 2023 Colorado All-State Jazz Band Large School bassist as well as the Colorado Springs All-City Jazz Band bassist and won the Maureen Otto Memorial Scholarship award. He was also a 2024 Young Arts winner for jazz.

Charlie has played with many of the top musicians in Colorado Springs and Denver such as Daryl Gott, Ricky Sweum, Jeff Sutton, Ethan Frank, Bertie Brink, Matt Horanzy, and many more. DeGrove is also a composer and prioritizes breaking boundaries between styles and creating new original music.
