New Horizons Band of Colorado Springs Concert and Symphonic Bands Spring Concert

The New Horizons Band of Colorado Springs presents their annual Spring concert featuring two ensembles: The Concert Band and the Symphonic Band.

The Concert Band's program - ¡Viva México! - will feature compositions by Mexican composers and music inspired by Mexico's rich musical traditions. Our Concert Band is directed by Mr. Stephen Rumbold. Mr. Rumbold is a retired music educator who spent his teaching career in California and Arizona. His teaching and directing experience includes all school levels, from elementary through college, as well as leading community band and orchestra organizations. He continues to enjoy music through performance opportunities on the French Horn. Mr. Rumbold's broad background brings a new atmosphere of musical skill and audience enjoyment to the NHB Concert Band.

The Symphonic Band will perform A Tribute to John Williams with music from Star Wars, Superman, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and much more! Our Symphonic Band ensemble is directed by Alex Marquez, Ed. D. Dr. Marquez holds a Bachelors of Music Education degree as well as advanced academic degrees in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. He has many years of experience as a teacher and as an administrator in private, charter, and public schools. Dr. Marquez is currently on staff at Colorado Christian University as an Assistant Professor and Director of Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Instruction.
