May 15, 2024 – Colorado Springs, Colo. – Starting May 19, Visit Colorado Springs is joining the U.S. Travel Association in celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW).
Every year, the tourism industry rallies together during May for NTTW. From economic growth to personal wellbeing, travel has major positive impacts, not just for travelers, but for residents as well.
“Tourism connects people with different cultures and experiences around the globe,” said Doug Price, President & CEO of VCOS. “It’s the fourth largest employment sector in the state of Colorado, stimulating economic growth, cultivating vibrant communities, creating quality job opportunities, inspiring new businesses and elevating quality of life for residents.”
Throughout the week, VCOS will share the impact of tourism on the local economy, the draw to tourists of Colorado Springs as Olympic City USA and the role that VCOS plays in promoting sustainability and accessibility in travel. There will be a giveaway hosted on the @VisitCOS Instagram account and tourism facts shared across all social channels.
