Visit Colorado Springs Receives DMAP Designation from Destinations International
This certification renews VCOS’s accreditation with DI through 2028
Colorado Springs, Colo. – Wednesday, March 11 – Visit Colorado Springs was recently awarded its renewal of the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) accreditation by Destinations International. This accreditation recognizes the organization's commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standards for performance and accountability of destination organizations around the world.
VCOS was awarded the highest possible recognition, indicating that the organization far exceeded the minimum requirements for accreditation. This distinction requires meeting standards that cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development and research.
“Our team at Visit Colorado Springs works hard to promote our destination to residents, visitors, meeting planners, athletes and more,” said Doug Price, President and CEO of VCOS. “Receiving this accreditation speaks directly to the hard work and dedication of our staff and assures our partners and stakeholders that we’re committed to exhibiting best practices with distinction in all areas of operation”
VCOS first received accreditation in 2010, with a renewal awarded in 2014. The standards were updated in 2018, and renewal was awarded with distinction in 2019. VCOS renewal was awarded again in 2024 and will be up for renewal in 2028.
“We are pleased to have Visit Colorado Springs among our distinguished group of accredited organizations,” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “The industry distinction defines quality and performance standards for destination organizations, and we are glad they are a part of the DMAP community.”
